Whats a good sweet wine?!
Whats a good sweet wine?
I want a good sweetish wine for everyday consumption? Prefferably a red wine for the heart benefits. Thanks!
Answers:
A good, sweet red wine would be a port. They are considered an dessert wine, they are sweet and very flavorful.
Pick one up, you can get a decent one for around $13 a bottle like Dows or Sandeman.
Also, if you can even find it, it's a Greek wine: Mavrodaphne. It's a sweet red, hard to find so a port might be the best bet.
Try a Red Zinfadel, some tend to have a sweeter side to them like Bogle Old Vine or another really good deal would be the Dancing Bull Zinfadel.
Goodluck and enjoy!
I would have to say Merlot
Port is a delicious, sweet dessert red wine. Pinot Noir is another sweet, though not as much as Port. It goes great with things like chicken, pork and lamb.
Beringer White Zinfindel is a great blush.
I know you said you prefer red, but have you tried Riesling? Preferably from Fetzer. It's very sweet... Delicious.
Have you tried plum wine? Now that's a sweet one! It's got calcium and potassium - two things your body already needs.
Hope this helps!
Try sweet wine!
brown brothers have two gorgeous sweet reds. dolcetto & syrah as well as sienna. they are lush! they also have some tasty whites as well i particularly like the moskato! cheers!!!
I prefer white but Matus is a nice semi-sweet rose
Depending on where you life, Duplin Winery has sweet wines. They are located in North Carolina near the east coast. They make a Hatteras Red and a Carolina Red, both are sweet and delicious. They are also high in reservatrol, which is the key ingredient in reducing cholesterol, blood pressure, and many other healthy things. You can go to their web site - www.duplinwinery.com (I think that's it) and order a couple of bottles and see for yourself! Cheers!
Check out this site, it seems like its right up your alley,

Personally I perfer Pinot Noir, its light and not quite as sweet, but its fantastic when paired with fruit and cheese.
Find one made from Muscadine grapes
BLUE NUN QUALIT?TSWEIN
With the famous Blue Nun on its beautiful blue bottle, and made from grapes grown in Rheinhessen on the banks of the River Rhine, this is a fine, medium-bodied white wine, now perhaps a little drier than you might expect, scented and delicious. It’s particularly good with poultry, white meats, seafood and eastern dishes. Versatile enough to go with most foods. And great to drink on its own.
A Tawny Port.
Merlot and Pinot aren't red wines.
I suggest an affordably cheap and really sweet and firm Lambrusco produced in the north of Italy.
It has an elevated tannine that demonstrated a benefic action on heart and blood circulation and a poor percentago of alchool (on average below 7%).
Drink italian wines, they're better
