You can serve alcohol to customers if you work as a server in a restaurant and you are at least 19 years old.

...persons who are 19 years of age or older and working as a waiter, waitress, or server may serve alcoholic beverages during normal dining hours in a restaurant which holds an Alcoholic Beverage Control Board restaurant retail license. An employer who employs a person between the ages of 19 and 21 to serve alcoholic beverages as provided in the preceding sentence shall be a licensee of the board who has been annually certified as a responsible vendor under the Alabama Responsible Vendor Act as provided in Chapter 10 (commencing with Section 28-10-1) of this title.

Yes. 21 can automatically serve, but 19 and older can serve if you contact the State and have a "Responsible Vendor" program at your restaurant. You will certify all eligible employees at once, and any new employee that comes in would need to take the training before being allowed to serve. I used to be a bar trainer in Huntsville.

21 can serve, but if they are younger they can't touch the alcohol. I'm 17 and applied for a job as a waiter at a place that served alcohol and they wouldn't hire me because of my age and me no being able to handle alcohol.

21+ legal drinking age.
18+ legal alcohol serving age
