Why can we sometimes lose are memory when drinking too much?!
Answers: Not sure but I went out the other week-had a bottle ov wine whilst getting ready half a bottle in the restaurant then I cant remeber anything after that....apparantley I was swinging my scarf around in the air in the 2nd pub we went in and whacked some girl in the face, We went to a few pubs and clubs after where I still drank even though according to my boyfriend 'my eyes wer rolling back and he thought I was going to collapse!' My jacket also had chewing gum stuck inside and had muddy patches on it when I inspected it the day after. Embarrasing! Cant remeber the last time I was SO pis*sed!!!!!
I know the answer to this, however i have been drinking all morning and cant remember
Because drinking kills brain cells. They do grow back but not instantly. I reckon this is part of memory loss!
This is simply because.... actually I have no idea. That's a good question.
You are killing brain cells every time you drink. That's nature's way of telling you you drink too much.
It's because you kill off brain cells that never repair themselves and they must be in the Memory part of your brain. It doesn't stop us going out and getting hammered though, does it? I did that on Friday and thankfully am now fully recovered. I do try not to get to the stage where I can't remember, but if you're young, you won't care. I'm 50 in days and believe me, it matters, so I try to screw the nut!! Scottish expression.
what a tardass, you cant grow back brain cells hahaha
oh and its because the alchol in your blood stream displaces the oxygen and travels through your brain cells with less oxygen, so your brain is working still but on much lower function.
Alcohol is a depressant, meaning it slows down certain systems in your body. If you drink too much, your brain slows down and can't store as many memories as it normally could.
Can't remember!
As part ov my job I actually teach the effects of alcohol. It's a fact that there are certain chemicals in alcohol that effect particular parts of your brain, so if I break that down what I mean is for example your cellebrum part of the brain is effected and your Hippocampus which stores your memory. Alcohol effects these parts ov the brain which in turn your RAS shuts down to prevent you dying from too much alcohol, thus resulting memory loss. There you go, aren't I a clever lass? x
great question! I tend to lose parts of my night most times I get drunk, I always thought it was because I'd done something that my brain didn't want me to remember!! ha ha
