When is one an alcoholic??!

Question:

When is one an alcoholic??

Answers:
There are a couple different stages the worst alcoholic is when his/her addiction get involved with work, family, or friends. When they can't do anything before they drink and then they are to drunk to do anything. The number one sign though of an alcoholic to be is if they look forward to their next drink. If you say that you only are going to drink on Friday and you can't be an alcoholic because you only drink once a week. But Mon, Tues, Wed, and so on you can't wait until Friday just to get drunk. Also I herd that is you black out when you drink or have ever blacked out before you have like a 85% more chance of becoming an alcoholic.

When alcohol begins to effect their personal lives, and performance.

its when you drink every single night and you have urges to open a can/bottle. When you no longer drink socially you drink alone in front of a tv or listening to music for hours while constantly drinking and getting drunk, and when you no longer have hangovers or throw up from drinking.

I would think you are an alcoholic when you get to the point where you "have" to have a drink in order to function. Most likely if you are drinking daily then there might be a problem.

when alcohol controls everything that you do if you drink alone to hide the pain you are feeling when you do things that you normally do not do when sober you regret your actions and you drink more to cover that up it keeps going on and on until you hit rock bottem when you cant' stop even when you want to but cant , after a while depending how much you drink your body will actually crave the alcohol.

...when one drinks to drunkenness repetitiously, and or when one looks forward to getting drunk on the weekends...

Here is a website with lots of good info that should answer your question:

The short answer to your question is you are an alcoholic when alcohol controls you rather than you control alcohol. When one drink is NOT enough. When drinking interferes with your other activities of daily living. When you feel a bit "off" or edgy without that drink.

When he/she stops enjoying alcohol, but starts driniking to get through the day.

Someone is an alcoholic when they no longer only have the "want" for a drink they now have moved on to "needing" the drink. Not feeling like you can go out with out first having a drink. "needing" that is an alcoholic!

when you drink it causes trouble or you get into trouble and you contuine to drink. If your having black outs when you drink thats a sign of trouble

When one is never enough.
