Drinking Beer?!

Question:

Drinking Beer?

I have drank beer a few times and everytime i can barley drink 1 beer because i dislike the taste. is it normal to not like the taste at first and if so when will i start getting use to it?

Answers:
Beer tends to be an acquired taste.

If you are drinking cheap domestic beer, it may never taste very good. I would recommend you try imported beer, or microbrews. An ESB (extra special bitter) or IPA (india pale ale) are both generously hopped (brewed with flowers) that improve the flavor. The bitterness of hops counteracts the sweetness of the malt, which is what makes beer palatable. Cheap beers often skip the hops and water down the lager.

Some folks never develop a taste for beer. Everyone is different--even identical twins. Don't force yourself to drink that which you cannot abide--life is too short not to enjoy it.

tell yourself that you're just drinking to get drunk and you'll learn to love it.

its normal, it taste aweful, why in the world would you want to get use to it! just to be like everyone else!

I'm a M.D for a local hospital and all your signs point to the fact that your probably allergic to beer. Don't drink any more because you could get a disease that could make you rot from the inside out...
Thanks,
Have a great day! :)

I think everyone hates beer when they first taste it! and normally the more u drink the more you get to like it! I never use to like wine but now it's my favourite drink!

If you don't like it don't drink it. Cider is good in the UK don't have it in the USA though.

Someone finally ask something I know. Ha!
Sometimes you will develop a taste for Beer and sometimes you may not. Also, different brands taste different! So, you may want to experiment and find one you like. I drank Bud for a long time and wanted different and now drink Miller. My friends like that Natural Ice I think that it and it made by Bud. But, I not like the taste, though it will get me drunk faster than Miller. Some of those Samuel Adams Beers are great and he got a lot to experiment with.

thats true u'll get used to it eventually, try to try different brands as they tend to taste differently and probably u'll find a beer thats right for u

You probably just don't have the alcoholic gene in you. I avoided alcohol for such a long time but the moment I tasted it I couldn't get enough of it. I love beer too,

Yes, completely normal. It will probably take you a while to really start liking the taste, I dunno, years maybe... but then a really good beer is like nothing else. Weird that. In the meantime you could stick with the weaker tasting beers, like Bud in the US, or especially cold-filtered lagers (drunk cold too). I stuck with Hahn Ice in Australia for years.... actually, come to think of it, I think I started liking the taste of that pretty quickly. Now I would think what taste. Also, you could try more expensive pale ale boutique beers. Anyway, point is, don't stress, it's completely normal.

Drinking beer is an aquired taste. You will dislike it at first, but the more you drink it, the more you will like it.

It's definitely an acquired taste. I hated it for awhile, but one day I tried it again and found that I liked it. I love it now!

Try Miller High Life (that's the first beer I was actually able to drink.) or Miller Light. They're both pretty watery, which equals drinkable. You gotta work up your beer pallet before you'll enjoy stronger varieties.

You will be avoiding a lot of problems if you just don't drink. A lot of people think it's cool to tell everyone what stupid things they did while drunk. People never start drinking saying to themselves "wow I can't wait until I'm a pathetic drunk!" But it will happen!

wel i hv been drinkin fo yrs now... ini stil dont like de taste o beer...n i dont drink it at al...it tastes aweful...if yo dont like it it's totally noraml...y don yo try better tastin drinks like...white rum...flavoured vodka...or plain black rum...de advantage!!!!!! s tat yo feel de kick more in these drinks ...one glass of white rum s equal to two bottle o beer
