It takes about 4 to 8 hours to metabolize an alcoholic drink. If you have two drinks in one hour....then it takes longer. About 8 to 10 hours after your last sip. Food and Coffee do not change this fact, contrary to what people might believe. Food usually coats and absorbs alcohol, but will not diminish it in your system. Your poor little liver is the only thing that will metabolize alcohol.
