The cost of soft drinks in a pub?!
Its madness what they charge for soft drinks...
Answers: The government and powers that be are worried about binge drinking in this country (England) yet I have just been out for a drink with my family and I paid £1.50 for a small lemonade..Not a little bottle of Schweppes or the like just the pump stuff....it is £1.32 for 1/2 of lager..now given the choice ( if your arent driving) which would you choose?....

I know it,s crazy is,nt it that pump stuff (post mix) costs 20p a pint to make and it s full of crap! Wish you could get cranberry or blueberry juice instead then if you want splash a little vodka in too! pubs just do not keep up to public trends do they? But at the end of the day the pub managers and landlords are just tax collectors for yet another crap Labour party so have to cover lots of expenses and make a wage too if they can. The government will only be happy when we don,t go to the pub, drive a big car or breathe come to think of it! What a ramble should have gone to the pub!!!!
Don't know about in the UK but here in Canada most pubs will comp you soft drinks if you tell them you're the designated driver. (Doesn't work if you're by yourself)
The taverns and bars are in business to sell drinks. The price is determined by what the market will bear. If you will pay two pounds for a glass of water, they will charge you two pounds. If you refuse to pay the extra amount, they will have to lower the prices.
If you ran a grocery store and could charge extra for disposable diapers, you would, right?
Yeah I'm in Canada as well and yes sometimes we get shafted for simple non-alcoholic beverages here as well like at the bars 2 dollars for a bottle of water or 2.50 for a glass of pop thats if you are alone if your in a group and mentioon your the designated driver forthe group they will usually give you free beverages like pop.
