The symptoms described in some of the other answers are correct, muscle tremors,nausea,vomiting,halluc... and etc. These symptoms are brought on when an alcoholic stops drinking "cold turkey" and the body no longer has the alcohol running its metabolism.
delirium tremors~~when the body is alcohol poisoned and your muscles shake and you hallucinate~~not something you want to do.
the DT's associated with drinking alcohol are nausea and vomiting, hallucinations, confusion, irritibility, trembling and seizure
