Don't listen to the haters. Bartending school is extremely helpful and informative to anyone with no bartending knowledge. You shouldn't even step foot behind a bar until you know your basic liquors, liqueurs, and cordials, as well as utensils, glassware, measurements, etc. And any decent bartending school will show you these things and more. Memorizing drinks isn't that important, as you'll always have a book to refer to if you forget something. But what IS important, is having a good base to build upon.

you have to be 21. it used to be 18 but they changed it awhile ago. at least that is for most counties in md.. im not sure about ma. youll have to google that.

Bartending classes are quite useless.
But classes like T.I.P.S. are quite helpful to have on your resume.

Go here: http://www.totallyfreebartending.com

You can kinda skip their daily process thing and just adjust the number in the url:

(just change the number, the lessons go up to 16)

I hope this helps.
