What is the best beer in your region/country?!

Question:

What is the best beer in your region/country?

I plan to drink beer when I backpack - can't take any unneccessary risks!!

Answers:
UK - stick to bottled ales (ie "real" ales) - they're more natural and give you much less of a hangover. Old Speckled Hen is my favourite.

They're more expensive than cans of lager though which if you're backpacking might be a factor.

Canadian

'Yanjing' - China

A&W rootbeer. That's the only beer I drink.

Where to start?

The north of England is awash with great beer. And we don't drink it warm anymore!

Timothy Taylor's "Landlord" is pretty good.
Jennings beer is good but its an acquired taste.

For lager style beers - most brewerys do a summer ale, very nice.

For normal cooking bitter I like Lancaster Bomber.

If your down south there are plenty of flat hoppy beers like London Pride.

Coopers Ale
It's made in South Australia and even though I don't drink beer, I liked that one.

Im American made and thats how I like my beer. Budlight is the best, I never drink anything else.

Japanese

KIRIN Ichibanshibori, the masterpiece of beer.

Either Natural Ice or Steel beer

In Thailand: Singha
