Freezing white wine?!

Question: Oh no! Through my own incompetence and forgetfullness, I now have a bottle of white wine UNOPENED that was completely frozen when I woke up this morning. It is currently thawing on my kitchen counter. My question is: If I shake it up really well, will it ever be drinkable again? (Keep in mind that this was in no way an expensive bottle)

Thanks

Don't shake it No need to Just let it defrost on its own When the wine is clear and free of icicles you can open it and it certainly be drinkable and will taste the same as if it had never seen your freezer

I don't think it should have frozen. Wine usually has about 12% alcohol. Beer hardly freezes and it has only 5%. Weird.

I think it'd be fine though.

Don't feel bad, I did that once too...you're just lucky the bottle didn't explode! But yeah...it's still perfectly drinkable. At least, mine was.

Don't shake it, just let it thaw on it's own. If you wait until it's 3/4 of the way thawed and then pour it out into another container, you would have Ice wine, which is much stronger both in flavor and alcohol content.

You are lucky the bottle didn't break! Thats what can happen. It may be a bit watery, or may be fine. Just make sure the bottle isn't broken inside.
