Which is better?? Tequila or Rum???!
Answers: TEQUILA! Without it we would not have the margarita or Tequila sunrise. =)
It depends what do you want it for.
I think they are both good with the correct drink.
ie...tequila in a margarita or rum in a pina colada.
Tequila is gross... RUM is good.
Rum is a lot cheaper and tequilla can be a bad hangover, but I do love my Margaritas.

Like all spirits, quality matters in either case, but that is especially true with tequila.
Cheap rum is much better than cheap tequila.
For me it is tequila. I love it.
That's really a matter of personal taste and preference. It also depends on what drink(s) you're planning on making.
