How much alcohol would kill me?!

Question: I drink about half a litre bottle of Vodka or JD or Bacardi.

And then more drinks..a variety after about a hour or so.

I just seen something on tv about drinking yourself to death.

How much would you need to consume to actually be in life threatening position??

I'll see you at an AA meeting someday...if you live long enough.

dead

if you are driving, really very little. please seek help. you are drinking too much.

as ,icj ,ijumuch as i've just has

1/2 pint a day habit will tear up your liver. But it could take
many years.

It depends, it reacts differently for each person. It mostly has to do with your weight and age. That's why there are age laws.

you're not there yet. relax.

depends on your body weight.
for 120lbs. about 9-12 drinks in an hour to reach leathel level.

you're not going to be poisoned.. the closest danger you can get to is liver cirrhosis/cancer.

drinking every day and every night will kill u but who cares not me i drink alot live hard die young

Keep going the way you are and you should get there in the end.

Gin will kill you you can still type so your not completely drunk/dead.

Depending on your weight ALOT in most cases. Skulling a bottle of spirits usually does the bizo but if your spreading out the drinks over many hours then christ knows lol for me at 175lbs I would prob die after 2 bottles of 80 proof spirits over a 6 hour period.. most i've had to date is almost a whole bottle of 80 proof whiskey, 10 beers and 1.5 litres of cider in 5 hours. I was chundering my guts out lol but I didnt black out so yea..

hahahaha brandie b "it would have to be a deadly amount".. no **** genius! But on a more serious note, alcohol can't kill you.. you just have to learn how to defeat it thats all lol

It would tend to depend upon your age, your weight, and whether you consume alcohol currently. Why the hell would you want to drink yourself to death?

I have literally drunk myself to death. I drank an entire bottle of schnapps and an entire bottle of vodka, both 750mL, in about four hours. My blood alcohol level was .43, leagl limit in my state is .08. I was dead in the ambulance, I was recessitated at the hospital. Trust me, it's not something you want to mess around with.

I don't think it is about HOW much as it is how much in timed sequence. From what I have heard it is shot after shot after shot of anything in rythem with your heartbeat that has your bloodstream running pure alcohol to your heart that kills you. Alcohol poisoning.

Don't die!!!!!

I will miss you!!!!

It would have to be a deadly amount. We can carpool to our AA meetings. Let me know when you are ready to go. lol

It amazes me when I read through some of the comments above the ignorance that exist in our society concerning alcohol; Media coverage of the "war on drugs" seldom mentions the two major killers, alcohol and nicotine. From the coverage, one would assume that cocaine was the United States' most dangerous drug. However, while cocaine, heroin and other illegal drugs are linked with about 20,000 deaths a year, alcohol contributes to at least 100,000 and cigarettes more than 390,000 - or more than 1,000 a day.
But people want to believe that alcohol (a drug) is perfectly fine, acceptable, and just a social lubricant. For most people it is, but sounds like your not like most people. To be drinking that much daily is not"normal" and definitely not social! Your probably not going to die today or tomorrow (although you might, you just never know) but you ARE dying a long and miserable death. I drank almost two gallons a day for about ten years, didn't die, but wanted to every single day!! And it continues to get worse, never better. If your drinking that much every day you didn't all of a sudden start doing it, this has been over time and your tolerance level has gone up, you may die if you stop suddenly from delirium tremens (alcohol is the ONLY drug that can kill you from withdrawals) because it sounds like your system needs it to function. I would seriously take a look at your drinking man, alcoholism is a horrific disease, but there is a solution. There is life after alcohol, and it's actually pretty damn good! Email me if you have any questions.

dont listen to the others. keep on drinkin!

Hello,

(ANS) Drinking yourself to death is NOT a very funny or nice thing to do, I've literally seen someone do this.

No.1 When drinking large volumes of alcohol the effects on the body are well known by medicine & well known physiologically. Alcohol directly affects the major organs of the body, the liver & kidneys and has a damaging effect long term.

No.2 You would in the initial stages get Alcohol Poisoning

No.3 People with acute & chronic alcohol (drinking) problems using die from organ failure or multiple organ failure. Frankly, its a horrific death, its slow and lingering.

No.4 The major damage is done to the liver which will always try to heal itself or recover from the impact of large amounts of alcohol intake. But liver damage is permanent after a certain point which means some people die from liver failure or require a liver transplant if they are lucky?

**Its NOT that a person would die from one binge drinking session, that would be more likely to end in alcoholic poisoning.

**death from Alcohol tends to be in people who drink large volumes of alcohol over a prolonger period of months or years. i.e. being constantly drunk every day for months or years.

Ivan

More then likely your body will give up before you over do it with alcohol, Not Always but most of the time....

Lethal Dose is used to describe the dose that would prove fatal in half the population (LD:50)

The LD for alcohol is believed to be in the 0.40 - 0.50% range (ie. that much alcohol in the blood would prove fatal for 50% of people)

To give in some context, the drink/drive level is 0.08 %, so say 5-6 times the drink-drive level. So say you downed 12 pints in the time it normally takes to drink 2, that should do it.

Let us know how you get on :)
