How often would a person have to drink for you to think they had an alcohol problem?!

Question: It's a problem once it starts causing problems in their life. Not showing up for work, problems at home, DUI's, etc.

It would also depend on the amount, but I would say that anything more than one glass of wine, a couple beers, or one cocktail drink per day would be an alcohol problem. There is no valid reason to drink more than that and it would be detrimental to one's health as well.

I dunno I usually drink at least three times a week and one of those is usually heavy drinking. :/

More than three beers a night, every night

Given how bad alcohol really is for you, I think if you drink every single day. I mean, a glass of wine with dinner isn't a drinking problem, but if you have one bottle to yourself every day... I think this becomes a bit of an issue.

Personally, if a guy has more than one or two drinks when he's out with me, I might start to wonder. A problem would be more than five drinks in a night -- that's binge drinking. Or more than one drink an hour. Or he starts to seem entirely too interested in where the next drink is, or he only goes out to drink, or it starts to cause problems at work or school. Or if he has personality changes when drinking. But, basically, if the person can't have fun without drinking, I'd definitely wonder. Oh, and if someone says "Dude, you have a drinking problem" then he probably does. So, it's not just how often, it's how much, and whether he feels he really needs it. Normal is an occasional drink, just one or maybe two at most, but not every time or every day.

from the time that they get up til the time they go to sleep or pass out
