Do you prefer a prosecco or champagne?!
They are made from different grape varieties, in a different place and in a different method. The only thing they have in common is their bubbles.
I enjoy both.
In Italy I wouldn't think of having Champagne but there is rarely a day that a bottle of Prosecco doesn't accompany lunch.
At home I drink much more Champagne. There are some terrific price deals on Champagne and it would be perverse not to stock up.
So, I am afraid my answer is no, I don't prefer one over the other as I don't think they are comparable, but I drink much more Champagne :)
But, dear Mags, do you have a preference?

prosecco, because it is like a grape wine would be better I think.
i cook with prosecco, but i drink champagne
I prefer the complexity of champagne. Trouble is, it is pretty expensive. A good proseco is pretty flavorful and is often a better value. It is also my choice when making drinks like mimosas and bellinis where the subtle flavors of champagne are hidden under the fruit flavors.
