How do you make alcohol out of apple cider?!

Question: is this a fact or what?

Answers: is this a fact or what?

Get a package of wine or beer yeast. Mix it in a quarter cup of warm water. Let it sit for aboiut fifteen minute and add it to the cider. Put the cider in a cool dark place and leave it open with a clean clothe covering the opening.

That should make some booze in a week or so. If you have unfiltered unpasturied stuff you might not even need half those steps. It is important that you actualy have drank before and know what alcohol should taste like. The stuff could go bad and if you don't know it you could get sick.

I did it by accident, was a bachelor and left cider in the back of the fridge for a year, bought it at christmas and didn't drink it til the following christmas, not sure if you have to add preservative, probably should, but I drank it anyway, it was real cider though, not apple juice.

by the way, nice yahoo Icon, that's my favorite shirt in my collection

if your cider has sugar in it just add yeast and wait for it to stop fermenting. Its more complicated than that but ethyl alcohol is just the anaerobic by product of yeast feeding on sugar. You'll end up with something around 13% alcohol and probably not very tasty. If you want a spirit made from cider you'll need to ferment and distill. Not recommended for the amateur. Distilling is illegal without a license for very good reasons.
