Are Highballs A Manly Drink?!
Are Highballs A Manly Drink?
I've never liked the taste of beer, but I've recently discovered that I like highballs (jack & coke, crown & coke, etc.). I'm just wondering, before I go out and drink too many of these in public, are they considered a manly drink?
It may be a stupid question. I know it has bourbon and whiskey in it but I just want to make sure that the coke doesn't make it more feminine. I'm not too worried about it, but you know how it is. I don't want to be looked at funny as if I'm drinking a Smirnoff Twisted IV malted drink with green apple.
Thanks.

Thanks for the responses.
I'm not really worried, just curious. You ever get heckled before? I know some people will think it's girly, while others will think it's fine. I'm just curious what the general consensus is.
I don't feel I need to prove anything. I'm just trying to avoid a little embarassment if it happens to be a feminine drink. Like I said, it's whiskey, but I didn't really know if the coke meant I can't handle the alcohol.

Thanks Nicole C, but I don't understand how I'm coming across as SOO concerned. I admited it was probably a stupid question but I'm just curious.
Ever see a movie where all the guys order hard liquor but one orders a girly drink? Just making sure I'm not that guy, for the sake of not being heckled by friends.
It's not like I'll feel inadequate as a man for the rest of my life.

First of all....Highball is a term used to describe a type of glass...a tall glass. It has nothing to do with the contents.
Second....There is nothing emasculating about drinking soda with your liquor. But since you're SO concerned, use the straw to stir, not drink... other insecure men view it as feminine.

No but I think most woman like Big Balls.
You'll be perfectly alrgiht with highball drinks. Especially with coke mixer try squeezing a lime or two in those drinks to give it a tart flavor rather than just a sweet one.
Ok. Baseball. Donuts, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soda,
maybe some fresh juice. NO. Capacity is reached for variance of the health code. One fact. Drinkers are up for
sale to the russian space projects, while they buzz. Sorry
fact of life is manly drinks are orange, v8 juice or milk.

If you want to look like a real man go to your local biker bar and order Shirley Temples with a twist and a umbrella for the house.
bourban and branch is a man's drink or straight up
yes, why are so worried. Try a pink lady they taste great.
Somebody, somewhere will give you a hard time about mixing anything with bourbon, especially Jack drinkers. Tell them 2 F*** off. If a fight ensues, then you'll know about being MANLY
Remember the bumper sticker, "Real Men Don't Eat Quiche" ?
Well, Real Men Drink What They Damn Well Like...
Your choice of drink is about your taste... not what your friends think. So you can either change your drink or your friends....
And if people still look at you funny, tell them you're drinking Coke because it doesn't clash with your steriods...
I second the lady above me, highball only describes the type of glass. Dont use the straw to drink.
anything with whiskey, scotch, brandy (excluding a brandy alexander) are typically manly drinks
