Wine connoisseours please?!

Question:

Wine connoisseours please?

I enjoy the sweeter wines: drys are just too much for me. I recently tried a Moscato and truly enjoyed it, however there wasn't much of a bouquet. Can anyone suggest reds and whites that are sweet and fragrant?

Answers:
Absolutely. The best sweet red wines that have a wide array of taste and aroma would have to be Red Ice Wines made from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape or a Merlot grape.

Also you could always go with a classic Ruby Port with its beautiful bright red glow and sweet flavors and aromas and nice strong fruit flavors.

Always decant the reds to bring out more flavor and aroma as well trust me it'll be worth the extra time preparing it that way.

As for whites again sweet and fragrant I'd have to say a reisling Ice Wine or German version "eiswein" and is probably the best.

You could also go for a late harvest Reisling or a Chenin Blanc. Both feature wonderful flavors and aromas in later harvest versions.

Chablis Blush or Zinfandel - not dry at all but not too sweet and inexpensive. Merlot is good too.

Riesling (German white)
Marsala (Italian red -- do NOT try to drink the cooking wine version)
Recioto della Valpolicella (also Italian red)

this is a happy topic, thank you for asking this question :)

Try a nice port, Canada has been putting out some fabulous ones but we have to call them Pipes, they are Ports it's just the region issues. Anyways they are useually very berry flavored and aromatic, you can buy blackberry ports that are just amazing! I buy quite a few of my favorite wines from a vineyard in the Okanagan called Silver Sage, they infuse wined with berries and other fruit, I just purchased a late harvest (it is a white however) infused with apricot and peach, they carry a blueberry infused red that is fanominal if you are into the sweet.

If you like sweet then you might like Sangria with all the lovely fruit

Mmmmm...sweet wines. Try reislings, auslese, spautlese and for the ultimate with sweet try a Sauternes. Drink it with a nice creme brulee.

My favorite red is Shiraz (syrrah) because it is sweet but not too sweet. Carmenere is also very nice.
