It depends on alot of factors - when you ate, your individual tolerance, if you are eating while drinking, etc. I would suggest letting yourself get a buzz by drinking slower (not alot of shots, etc.) or drinks with a lower alcohol content. Once you have a good buzz, only drink enough to maintain it. But, you'll have to judge what you're comfortable with and even then you might drink more than you should (leading to puking and/or hangover). A good way to prevent a hangover is to drink at least one bottle/glass of water before you go to sleep at the end of the night. (but of course this doesn't always happen). I usually down some quick at the beginning of the night and slow down as it goes on. But thats with hard alcohol mixing. And i don't drink very often. Hope you have fun!
Hard to say, if you've had a full meal then maybe 6-7 standard drinks if you don't drink much.. A standard drink is about 30ml of 80 proof spirit, glass of wine or a 330ml bottle of beer.
However if you have a delicate stomach though then maybe less before you start puking..

Puking depends on your stomach and how fast you drink. I have drank till I lost hours of time without puking. Three in an hour should get you nice and warm maybe tipsy. Then one an hour after that will keep you that way. And anything more than one an hour will get you drunker. You could start felling sick at any time though.
