Anyone know the brand name of soy sauce that does not have to be refrigerated after opening?!

Question: Refrigeration seems to change the taste of soy sauce. Maybe it is a safety concern now but it used to be like liquor, kept just fine in the bottle if you recapped it.

All are correct,
You dont have to refriderate soy sauce.
Or Ketchup
or Mayo ( true).
People still beleive that mayo goes bad unfridgerated.
thats not true.
In a salad( lets say chicken salad) the mayo only went bad because the chicken went bad causing the bacteria to make the mayo go bad.
But rememeber, if you stick a spoon in the mayo that has food on it, then it'll go bad either way.

you dont have to refrigerate soy sauce.. it has such a high sodium level that no bacteria will grow in it.. Most of the soy sauces that people use are Kikoman

I buy Yamasa, and it says to refrigerate after opening. I never do, but then, we use the stuff pretty quickly.

yup i can second that - ive never put soy sauce in the fridge and I always buy Kikkoman :O)

no no no you must refrigerate.... soy sauce is brewed... aka fermented so you must refrigerate.
my advice: start with a high quality soy sauce.
keep in a tightly closed container.

it's changing it's taste b/c it is absorbing the other odors in the fridge therefor using a sealed or tightly closed container you can prevent this from happening. but you must refrigerate it.
