What's a good wine for a decent price to have a a wedding? Prossecco?!

Question:

What's a good wine for a decent price to have a a wedding? Prossecco?

My wedding colors are peach and a sorta berry color. I saw someone on television pour Prossecco over some peaches and berries in champagne flutes, it looked nice. Would prossecco be a good idea or not? If so, what brand?

Answers:
the drink you describe is a called a bellini. It was created in italy and is usually peach puree with sparkling wine. It can be made with any sparkling wine from champagne, proscecco, cava, etc. Prosecco is italian sparkling wine. I think it would be nice to serve the bellini at a wedding, but it might be pricey and everybody might not like it.

As far as sparkling wine goes, If cost is no object, my absolute fave sparkling wine is anything from Schramsberg in Napa. J. Schram is the best, but it is horrifically expensive. If you want affordable, I love Mumm Cuvee M with the blue label. Usually about $15 per bottle. My brother had Moet & Chandon from France, it was OK for the price they paid.

At the end of the day, whatever you and your fiance think is best. I would recommend doing a sampling of sparkling wines and just tasting a bunch of stuff.

Anything except Merlot. Do not get Merlot.

Australian wines tend to have a high quality for their price. Check out Lindman's, Jacob's Creek, or Penfolds.

Champagnes: prosecco, martini and rossi asti, or piper

My cousin went through this. His answer, what tasted best to him and his bride to be. They went through about 7 different wines before they found what they like. Don't worry about the name rather the taste. There are TONS of great wines for cheap.
