Find activities that will make you forget drinking. The activities that you do try to either alter them or cut them out of your life, Get a hobby that will keep your body and mind busy and the most important thing is get all the booze out of your house so there is no temptation.
Are you so weak that you need to enlist help to stop drinking ? How do you think most people manage? Self control is a real thing.....you should put it into practice old boy !
i am not a drinker so to me? in my mind ? if that is something you dont want to do, you just do not do it. i know it is an addiction and it has a real strong hold on you. will power is the only answer i can think of. try drinking ice water when you crave the vodka. maybe take a walk when the craving hits.
Good Luck
It is my opinion that AA is really your only option at this point. I believe that most rehab centers charge up to $5,000 for outpatient type of rehabilitation and in-patient is extremely expensive. Millions of people have quit using the AA system and practicing the 12 steps. "Trying" AA requires more than just attending some meetings. You need to be thoroughly committed to following the 12 steps. You need to remove yourself from situations where you are compelled to drink... this might mean leaving some friendships behind. You need to remove every trace of booze from your home, car and work and remove all cocktail glasses and paraphanaila from the place. You need to get a sponsor and work the program.
If you are addicted to the stuff then you are powerless against it. If you quit while attending AA, look back at the instance that caused you to start drinking again.
BTW, your other option is just to continue drinking until you bottom out and your life becomes so crappy that you have the motivation to work the program or until something worse happens.
Good luck.
They have these pills you can get from the doc, (not super expensive, probably equivalent to the cost of your vodka daily) that if you have just one sip of alcohol you get seriously sick and it takes the craving away.
