I would think Russia & Germany would be up there too.
I mean a WHOLE month dedicated to beer.

Canadians are well known for it as well. As a Canadian I can attest to this!

Im American
and I like to drink alot
maybe I should move to Ireland

I think Americans drink quite a bit... but I have noticed that it is more of a social thing. I don't drink unless it is on the weekend. The French drink there fair share of wine but they in general don't over indulge.

Puerto Rico! They start drinking before noon and hang in there all night long!

RUSSIA! I think France is next. Vodka is an overwhelming problem in the former soviet union.

Russia, without a doubt. However, it's more about the tradition with Russians, not the fun. Same goes with Italy and the Italians, both are BIG drinkers (like the Irish), but it's more about the tradition, appreciating the tradition and respecting the tradition. Sure they go and have their drunken fun, but it's tradition first.

I hear Russia has over 10% of their population in programs for alcoholism. That's an insane amount.

Americans enjoy their drinks, too. As a college student, it's pretty much what everyone does.... Can't say I've been to Ireland, but in the US you have a lot of people who are real pricks about alcohol. As in, "You should never ever drink any of it under any circumstance" type of people. There's actually a lot of these, I hope Ireland doesn't have so many.

I think its the Czech Republic that has the highest beer consumption per person.
