(I already know my feeling on this, but I was curious as to what other Christians feelings are) Thanks everyone!! =P
not at all. It even says everything in moderation. Jesus even drank wine when He walked the earth so, why would it be wrong for his followers to have a glass as long as they wern't doing it for addiction or just to get drunk?
Wine was widely consumed because it was safer to drink than water in the Biblical Days. It's been proven in history.
Besides if someone else has a problem with you drinking wine just show them respect and not drink wine when you are with them. My family are Jewish Christians and we have 1 glass every Sabbath. and other occasions. It's like other natural medicines put on this earth to help us that people have problems with when used as they were ment to be used.
Born and raised a Christian but no longer practicing so I can drink without feeling guilty, thank goodness!! And do other things that aren't bad but feel good, thank goodness again!!
I don't see a problem with it. One glass should be ok. They serve wine with communion, right?
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT! now if you abuse it (becoming an alcoholic) then thats a problem in God's eyes and most people here on earth as well. especially wine...one of the most classy drinks instead of alcohol. dont drink alcohol
Christian...drinker. Never with the intent to get drunk, but do occasionally get buzzed.
I am born again as of 2006. I drank wine before I was saved and I still drink wine (have an occasional beer as well). I don't drink to get drunk, I enjoy the flavor. I don't think it is wrong, but I do understand some church teachings that to drink around others, who may have alcohol problems, is probably wrong, as you may entice them to drink as well.
I figure - Christ made water into wine and passed the cup at the last supper. I doubt the cup was filled with fruit juice. More likely beer, as that was the drink that was most readily available during Christ's time. Wine would have been very expensive due to the lack of vineyards in the region. Probably reserved for the wealthy.
Since wine is the "blood of Christ", then yes, you can have a glass of wine. Moderation is the key.
its really mandantory, the more drunk you are, the more your religion makes sense. staying sober might actually couse you to think and that would lead you away from god
I see nothing wrong with a glass or two of wine. I have always felt that drinking itself isn't a sin but drinking causes you to sin. I myself drink every now and then not to extremes maybe a drink with a meal (it has however been probably 3 months since I've had anything at all to drink). I don't see anything wrong with a glass of wine Jesus turned the water into wine and it speaks of drinking wine in the bible. Now I don't think getting dog faced drunk is something everyone should go do but I don't see having a drink hurts every once in a while.
I don't think it is Biblically wrong to drink alcoholic drinks but getting drunk or being led by your thinking after you are drunk will only lead to poverty and personal destruction.
I think one glass wouldn't hurt...as long as you dont get intoxicated.
You do realize in the time of the Bible, wine was pretty much the equivalent of water?
What were Jesus and the Apostles drinking at the the last supper?
What do they offer along with hosts at Eucharist?
Every priest in every Catholic church does it every Saturday and every Sunday at every mass.
So lets see how hypocritical the answers can be! I am sure somone will say it's wrong!
Why would it be wrong to drink wine... Christian or non-Christian? Wine is a fine drink. Christ himself drank wine. Mary asked him to turn water into wine at a wedding.
During communion, some (not all) churches give wine. Granted, you don't have to drink the wine if you don't want to. That's a personal choice, there.
Wine and Christianity have a long history together. lol
Getting drunk is biblically wrong? Didnt christ turn water into wine? That sounds like an endorsement to me.
