How can I keep red wine from going bad so soon?!

Question: I want to be able to open a bottle, have a glass or two one day and then maybe another glass or two in the next week but I feel like the wine doesn't taste as good after that.

There's a gas you can get to spray into the bottle once you've opened it - I think it's nitrogen. I use that and a Zyliss bottle stopper I got from bed bath & beyond that works very well. It's also better if you refrigerate it...

There are now new wine bottles with screw tops. I know its not as elegant and cool as the cork, but I've heard that its at least good for another day of pleasurable drinking.

Screw tops from my experience definitely keep the wine tasting better for longer. Although I would say that if you put the cork back into the bottle after use opposed to a normal wine stopper, as long as you drink it within a week you should be fine!

Your kidding right? Red wine usually tastes better after being open. You could perhaps try adding a splash of sparkling spring water to it before you drink it. It may just freshen it up a bit!
Cheers!!

Buy it in boxes or in those tetra packs. You can find Good wine and it stays sealed. Otherwise you can buy pumps that suck some air out and are supposed to keep it better.

I don't know how to keep it fresh longer, ... but you can use it in cooking if you don't drink it within the next couple of days. that way you aren't wasting it.
