Bloody Mary Recipe From Scratch?!

Question:

Bloody Mary Recipe From Scratch?

I'm looking for a GREAT bloody mary recipe that you make from scratch... this means no Mrs. T's or any premix. I'm talking the real deal. Does anyone have one?

If you asked 100 bartenders you'd likely get 100 answers. It's all a matter of taste. But for THIS bartender, I go shot of vodka, 10oz can of tomato juice, 2 teaspoons of Lea and Perrin's worcestershire (I like quite a bit, and I prefer L & P), dash of pepper and celery salt, squeeze of lime, dash of tabasco, two olives and a stalk. Lots of ice and shake the hell out of it. I think it should be REALLY cold and well mixed.

I know you said no mixers, but I have to plug "Zing Zang" made by Lea and Perrin. It's a good enough mix to serve "as is" or as a place to start doctoring if someone wants something specific like "extra spicy." I don't work for them or anything, but in my opinion, nothing else compares. It's a steak in a bottle.

Here's a site that has a recipe, but I like to add celery salt to mine.

Tabasco
horseradish
pepper
celery salt
vodka
Mix all ingredients to taste, serve over ice with a celery stalk garnish.

No actual recipe, but some key ingredients other than tomato juice are: lemon juice, worcestershire, cilantro, horseradish, celery seed, red and black pepper, or Old Bay, balsamic vinegar, garlic. I just wing it. I hope this helps!

tomatoe juice, salt, pepper, celery salt, garlic salt and horseradish. Depending on the amount you are making will depend on how much you use. But these are the basic ingredients in Bloody Mary Mix. I worked in a bar and we made it by the gallon this was the recipe

2- 49.5 ounce cans of Tomatoe Juice
1 Tbsp Salt
1 Tbsp Pepper
2 Tbsp Celery Salt
1 tsp Garlic Salt
2 Tbsp Horseradish

for a little extra flavor add one or two small cans of V-8 Juice.

1 tsp of Horseradish (Optional)
Dash of Lime Juice
Tomato Juice

Pour vodka into a salted glass with ice. Add the Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce and lime juice. Fill the glass with tomato juice.

Garnish: Celery and/or Olives
