my valet.

It's called a Tantalus.

The Tantalus allowed the wealthy house owner a means of locking away their finest brandy and other spirits from the eager attention of their butlers, who often helped themselves to a 'tipple' after the master retired to bed.

They are named after a character from Greek mythology called bizarrely, Tantalus. Tantalus was punished in Hades by not being able to eat or drink, as the water in the lake dried out and the fruits in the trees were lifted by the wind each time he tried to reach either - hence we get the word 'tantalise'.
