In layman's terms, what's a good way to learn and remember how Tonic Water & Club Soda DIFFER?!

Question: Tonic water has quinine in it (the bitter stuff) and was originally sold as a medicinal "tonic" for malaria.

Club soda is just plain carbonated soda/water.

I'm not sure thats so easy though? Is it ? I think the tonic thing makes sense but I'm not sure everyone would remember it. I can't think of any catchy phrases or anything, sorry.

Club soda is simply water with air...a bubbly goodness

Tonic water is biter due to the stuff added to it.
Personally I think it is awful.

Think of club soda aka carbonated water as the base for pop and other carbinated drinks.

How about

A Tonic is an old name for medicine, and Tonic water tastes like medicine. (It contains quinine to protect against malaria)

A Club is somewhere nice you want to go.

Ok, even though I love drinking straight tonic water...most people don't. So you can think of it like this:

Tonic almost sounds like Toxic - that's the bitter stuff.
