Does beer actually lower your stress levels or make it worse....?!


Question: Drinking 1 or 2 good craft beers a day can be very beneficial to your health. Beer relaxes you, reduces stress and helps you sleep. Beer contains vitamin B6 which helps prevent heart disease. Beer also contains antioxidants in a form that is easily absorbed by the body (even more so than wine). Alcohol in moderation is also thought to increase the amount of good cholesterol (HDL) in the bloodstream, leading to less blood clots.

So in moderation, beer is great! (But good beer, not crap beer.)

beer is a depressent that take away all of your stress in your brain.. so it takes away stress

well alcohol numbs your senses, but on the other hand some people get very emotional when they drink...so i say go exercise instead..that always helps out with stress and its good for ya!!!

That's a loaded question. Often times the feeling of a slight buzz will make one feel less stressed. And that's good, but alcohol physically can have the opposite effect by raising ones blood pressure and heart rate, which are probably already high from your original stress. The bottom line: 1-2 drinks might help temporally to relax. Anything more than that has an opposite effect. Better advice would be to find some other outlet to relax with. Go for a walk, read, listen to music, etc.

it does both. The beginning effects of beer and all other alcohols is relaxation. Like every other drug, your body will crave more and and then you'll be back to being tense. So really it does nothing.

Eat weed cookies, it's better for your health!

alcohol is a depressant. so it would lower your anxiety, inhibition, stress. Sometimes in the process of getting drunk though though issues can surface.

It makes whatever it can get worse! Any kind of bad drug can make you get hooked for life or you die trying it!

NOOO, IT MAKES YOU FEL YOUR REAL FEELINGS 2 SOMEONE. IT CAN KILL YOU. I KNOW THIS COZ IT HAPPENED TO SOME IN MY FAMILY, THEY DIED OF ANGER AND STRESS LEVELS CAUSED FROM ALCAHOL POISENING!!!!!

in the short term it helps.
in the long term it makes it worse, depending on the amounts. if you can stick to one or two a day and no more, you'll probably be okay.

for the moment but it actually make stress worse when the beer is out of your system
