Help me pick a bottle of wine for my date!?!

Question: Important date comming, up, she knows wine, I don't. She'll be cooking some type of mild curry dish. She likes Reds, specifically Pinot Noirs, and preffers less "plummy" wines (I don't even really know what that means). Recommendations on type and year? Help!

She likes Pinots the the Frei Brothers is a good recommendation, on the label look for Rodney Strong from Russian River Vally or Joseph Swan. Russian River is the best for Pinot's as far as I am concerned. If you want to impress a little more bring a chilled white, Viogner. Not a typical white and it will balance out a curry nicely.

Frei Brothers Pinot Noir is my standard.

There are a lot of good pinot noirs coming out of the Pacific Northwest.
