Where can I find Bulk dry BEER yeast?!
Answers: The dry yeast at my local homebrew store only comes in small packets. I am just looking to save a little money. I plan on making alot of beer. And I do not want to use bread yeast, I heard that makes poor tasting beer.
First off, I believe www.williamsbrewing.com offers bulk pricing on dry yeast...but, as a brewer you can save money by reusing yeast. You can use yeast for normal strength beers multiple times. Just transfer one beer out of the fermenter and put another one right onto the yeast cake of the old one. Or make a big starter and save some of the yeast for your next brew. Dry yeast is cheap though so you're not really saving much.
Try the health food store
Go to a local brewery. Usually they will sell you some or put you in touch with a distributer.
you shulnt drinc. prey boy
Fermentis, the maker of Safale and Saflager dry yeasts have 500gram packets, as opposed to their normal 11gram packets. I think it is primarily used for commercial brewers, so like mentioned above, check out with a local micro brewery. Reusing your yeast is a great trick too. If you get good at doing starters and cultures, you can store slants of yeast that you can reuse over and over.
Just get one pack of dry yeast and culture it up to what you need just remember that making batches to big adds you'll need an airlock or a foam cork and a chemistry flask as far as food for the yeast i would go with a 100% apple juice concentratrate. Add some sugars such as dextrose or fructose only about half a cup and leave it in a warm place in less than 12 hours you'll have doubled your pitch size or more and I wouldn't let it go longer than 24 hrs but you can always put it in the fridge for a day or two more if your fridge is on low- mid setting. Ps the apple juice should have every thing the yeast needs beside adding a lil extra sugar for food for it you should'nt need any yeast nutrient or what not.

And remember to sterilize your equipment
Re-using your yeast is the most cost effective way to brew in bulk. Just because your done fermenting, doesn't mean the yeast is dead. Invest in a conicle fermenter and you'll be able to reteive the yeast very easily.
