Can I save an untapped keg for the next weekend, if I ice it before I drink it?!

Question:

Can I save an untapped keg for the next weekend, if I ice it before I drink it?

My friends and I threw a double keg last night. At first we were tempted to save the 2nd keg for next weekend which was prom night. But than we just decided to drink it. But out of curiosity, if I don't tap a keg, can I save it in my garage and than ice it next weekend before we drink it?

Answers:
yes you can use it if you save it. it will be way better if you keep it chilled over the week. but if you tap it it will go bad. and one you introduce air into a keg you get bacteria into the keg and it will ruin your beer in under one day.

yep.... kegs are stored at liquor stores untapped for a long time. They're fine.

As long as its kept cool during the week it should be ok. Even once tapped if you are using Co2 to pressure the tank it should lat a week .

yep. if you haven't tapped it, it will be fine.

If the keg is in fact untapped, you can just store it in a cool place and then start icing her down early the day of the party. If you have tapped it, drink it now!

One week is about the most you would want to try keeping keg beer without refrigeration.
Keg beer is not pasturized like bottled or canned beer so it's more volatile to spoilage.

Chill it and keep it tapped and it should be fine but not for long. Blow the bastard out and let it flow!

Absolutely! Because of its high urine content, Coors light never goes bad! It has no expiration date, and in fact, all kegs of Coors light can be identified by the high number of nutsack imprints around the opening.

Kegged beer lasts a long time (3 months+) if kept untapped and chilled or even tapped with a CO2 system and kept cold.
