What types / kinds of beer would I like?!

Question: I haven't ever really been a fan of beer. My husband bought that lime and salt stuff and I LOVED it. Since I did, are there other kinds of beer that I might like? (Hubby calling me back from the grocery store in a few minutes and he wants BEER. :P)

Also, what on earth is Wheat beer? Is it any good?

Wheat beer is my favorite and tastes so much better. Abita makes the best wheat beer. Try Purple Haze. Sweetwater also makes an incredible wheat beer.

Wheat Ale is good, especially Boulevard's Pale Ale (with a slice of lemon...)

You can just stick with some Corona's with lime, but you probably won't like dry beers, like Guinness. Murphey's might be worth a shot.

I love all Kinda beers 4 to 5 % alc/vol. I mean lagers and Guinness

Pyramid and Sierra Nevada

You might be better off with a cheaper lager style then wheat bear. Try coors or coors light, It doesn't have a ton of that beer flavor that you seem to not like.

I like stronger beer's with at least a 7% alc content. MOstly plale ale's or malt liquor

Yes, wheat beer is good. It's great to experiment but if you liked the lime and salt stuff, you might as well go for a wine cooler.

It's probably best to start with something on the lighter side before you jump into something strong & complex. Wheat beers are a great beer to start with.

Beligian Whites (also called witbiers) are unfiltered, cloudy & light with hints of coriander, orange zest & spices. German Hefeweizens are similar unfiltered wheat beers but usually have flavors of lemon zest, banana & clove. You might see these beers served with an orange or lemon slice, but a good, flavorful example of these styles won't require fruit.
(Try Southampton Double White, Allagash White, Franziskaner Hefeweizen, Flying Dog In-Heat Wheat, Victory Weiss...check out a locak brewery in your area, they probably produce something in this style.

Other styles you might want to try are Pale Ales or India Pale Ales (which are on the lighter side with hoppy bitterness that could have earthy or citrus flavors), or even a Fruit Lambic (Belgian ale with a sweet/sour flavor). Lindeman's produces many flavors including Peche (peach), pomme (apple), frambiose (raspberry) & kriek (cherry).
