Good day,
Wines can run in millions. But come on now. You can get great bottle for under 50. Rosemount makes some great wines and 20 range, Why not get her an asst of Reds, Texas,Australia, California, place in nice basket w/ monogrammed glass. Are there any wine tasting events in your area, Ticket would be great.

Price doesn't always mean a great wine. If you bought her a bottle around $25.00, that would be a fine merlot. Then you could buy her 2 or 3.

A really good Pinot noir and rent the movie Sideways its all about wine but very good and funny you could go to a wine warehouse or a good liquor store and get one Rothchilds label has expensive red wlne but you can't beat Pinot noir they talk about it in the movie the guy say's no Merlot he loves Pinot because it's a rare grape and he hates Merlot watch the movie with your friend , when you spend 150 to 200 on a bottle of wine noone wants to open it ,been there done that .

I wouldn't spend that much on a Merlot. Go to a good wine shop and ask the wine seller for a recomendation. I'd probably choose a good American Cabernet, French Burgundy or Italian Barolo, Brunello or Amarone.

There is no red wine worth $100 per bottle.

Try a Lafitte Rothschild 1964. Well, you asked.
Anyway, try a domestic or Australian Shiraz, Merlot, Petit Syrah, Syrah, or Pinot., They are middle of the road as far as body and you can really find some good ones.
