Mixed drink method question?!
Mixed drink method question?
i want to make the drink that's half guinness and half dry pear cider. what's that called anyway? i can't get it to split between the two; it always blends or fades. can you tell me what the method is to keep them seperated? most tenders use a spoon, but what's the trick?
Answers:
My hubby is a bartender and this is what he says
put cider in first 1/4 to half full
turn spoon upside down and hold it so it is touching inside below the rim
makesure spoon tilts down
pour guinness on top of spoon very lightly
keep pouring slowly, guiness is heavier than cider and therefore will sink to bottom.
note: if don't have spoon tilt glass until cider is to the rim of the glass and pour the guinness in very slowly and that will keep it separated and cause layers
can't remember name of drink right now though! Enjoy!
TRY AGIN!
I have no idea what the drink is called...but for some reason I have seen people pour the drinks over a spoon slowly..I dont know what this will do...and it may not even work...but that is my 2 cents..
You need to get spout pourers for your bottles. They are not expensive and can be bought online or at any bartending store. The trick is to pour them at exactly the same time at an angle, I dont know why but it works. The two will blend. Pouring over the back of a spoon is a very cheap variation of this.
don't use ice use chilled beverages put the Guinness on the bottom and poor sloooowwllyyy.
im not sure, but i once saw a guy make a drink that he called
a wet t shirt. He actually took a wet t shirt put it tightly over
the glass poured 3 or 4 different alcoholic drinks in it. I think it
started with water on the bottom, but syou could see the different sections of coulers it was almost like the lines were perfictaly strait And then when you drink it really fast it tastes
like water. hope that helps you (:
I've never done this with cider I have done it with English ale the trick is to make sure the guiness goes on top. The trick with the spoon is to hold the spoon directly over the first layer then pour the guiness slowly over the top. At most bars the guiness has a spoon already attached to the guiness tap.
poor half into the glass, then take a spook, flip it upsided down and slowly poor the next liquor on the middle of the back of the spoon. This will gently layer the liquor on top without mixing the two.
try it first, taste it and know what is it
try it out little first and check the taste
