What wine would go well with this recipe?!

Question:

What wine would go well with this recipe?

Chicken Tequila Fettuccini... http://allrecipes.com/recipe/chicken-teq...

Answers:
I would suggest either a Riesling or a sweet Gewurtraminer.
Fetzer has a Gewurtraminer that is easy to find that would work and it's less than $10 a bottle.

Riesling would be my first choice though. Hogue Riesling would be a good selection for around $10 or Robert Mondavi Johannisberg Private Selection...also around $10.

Pinot Grigio

blackstone merlot

Gewurtztraminer goes quite nicely with spicy dishes.

The cream sauce is the most important component of the dish. You need a wine with enough acidity to cut the cream sauce. The tequila is going to fade into the background, not that I'm suggesting it's not a great recipe. I like tequila chicken, I've never seen it served with pasta. I think a Pinot Gris (Grigio) or even a sparkling wine would be stellar with the dinner.

voigner wine perfect for wine and chicken

try a sparkling pinot grigio

Just finish off the tequila. If you must, try a sauvignon blanc, preferably one that's more balanced/less "grassy." If you're not familiar with sauvignon blancs, a safe bet would be Francis Ford Coppola's.

vintage red wine aged (1945) nor a nice white wine vintaged-1920's

I would try a Riesling. Chateau Ste. Michelle makes an excellent one. It would balance the spicy of the dish with the creamy components.

Pink Catawba...Heritage Wines Cellers, Northeast , PA

they have a web site...little know fact that there is a little stretch of lake erie (PA and NY) between Cleveland OH and Niagra Fallls, NY that has some really good wines, the extreme cold of winters and distinct seasons makes for some wines that are very savory.
