I am looking for a nice Red Wine to accompany a chinese dinner this evening. Does anyone have any suggestions?!

Question: I normally have white with chinese, but fancied a nice red. Can anyone make a nice suggestion?

They serve Plum wine with Chinese but Pinot noir is good with anything

Something quite light and fruity for Chinese I think - how about a Californian Zinfandel.

A Chilean cabernet sauvignon.
Cannot beat it.

With Chinese keep it sweet to offset the spice in the food. How about Riesling, or a Pinot Gris. If you like a red maybe a Gamay Beaujolais.
Cheers!

Most wines do not pair well with Chinese cuisine. One principal exception is that sweet or semi-sweet white wines will sometimes complement very spicy dishes, because of their sweetness and because they're served chilled.

My recommendation is to save the red wine for a meal that calls for red wine, and have Chinese tea or Chinese beer with this meal.

Honestly, when in Rome and all that, so drink sake but warm it up and it gives a kick like a mule. xx I would only ever drink rose with Chinese food as it is so delicate or should be, not like the chips and curry sauce brigade!!!! They probably drink Tennants Super and good on them too. xx
