Not at all. At thirteen your body has not fully developed. Alcohol will adversly affect your growth.

Roughly 40 percent of youths who start drinking before age 15 will experience an alcoholic episode during their lifetime, vs. 7 percent of those who wait to drink until age 21. Now there's a documented reason why: The brain is still developing through the early 20s. Even moderate amounts of alcohol can cause irreversible physical changes and damage to a young person's brain - making them more susceptible to other chemical stimuli (drugs) and cognitive trouble.

Alcohol disrupts the brain's pleasure-reward system by stimulating unusual amounts of dopamine, creating feelings of pleasure from a chemical instead of from natural experiences. The teen brain already produces an abundance of dopamine (compared with an adult brain), so when stimulated by alcohol, it can rapidly go from liking, to craving, to needing alcohol. This programs it for alcoholism, according to a 1997 article in the Journal of Substance Abuse. It also damages the impulse-control and good-judgment areas of the brain, and harms learning and memory areas.

Collectively, this can cause young people to: develop social problems, have poor judgment, get into trouble, perform poorly in school and fail to achieve life-long goals, according to the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism and other social surveys.

in short: no

OF COURSE NOT...drinking aint the answer...

No, ask granny for a sip of her vino.

No...your much too young for that...legal age is 21 in US

alcohol does not help with anxiety or depression. professional help does...!

no. Please for the love of god turn to Jesus

be serious! do you wanna become an addict? i didnt think so!
there are waaaaay better ways to get happy without drinking :D. go do something fun with your friends!

just dont do it, its stupid, if you get drunk then you act weird and may do something you regret, DONT DRINK!

too young you should wait like 3-4 more years.
Edit: very few people wait till they are 21 anyways. if you're gonna do it, let your body develop more, wait till you're 16 17 or 18

No you should not drink alcohol for your anxiety and depression...first of all you're under age and I think it'll make your problems worse. You should go see your doctor.

BAD BAD BAD..... You really like vodka and beer do you? How often do you drink? If you have anxiety and depression drink will make it worse, it enhances your feelings. I would stay off the boose and talk to a doctor or counsellor about these anxiety and depression feelings. It may only be puberty but you need to talk to someone about how you feel. BOOZE IS DEFINITELY NOT THE ANSWER.

no it isn't safe. you're not even suppposed to be drinking and you definately shouldnt get drunk. if you do it once you might do it again then you might become addicted and have serious problems when your older like organ failure

kid you got some serious problems....

no! unless you wanna be a 13-year old alcoholic.you can handle anxiety and depression in a more mature way, believe in yourself!

If you want to do it then do it.

A) you should never mix vodka with beer...total disaster unless you have a strong stomach or you want to be by the loo all night

B) your only 13 that's pretty young...depending on where and who you will be drinking with.

& C) Never Never go to alchohol for a cure for dpression of any sort NOT good!

NO------it is not good -- not safe---- .it may calm your anxiety and depression for some time. it is not a permanent solution. better you do some of the deep breathing exercises (PRANAYAM )

ummmm....im gonna say NO

No, its a bad idea because it is very illegal. Not to mention that you have no idea what your alcohol tolerance level is. You say you like vodka and beer, so I would assume that you have drank them before. So have you been drunk before? Are you just hoping that we will validate something you are already doing?

No honey, it's wrong.

omg are you stupid? hell no dont drink. wait actually go drink get yourself into such a stupour that you have to get your stomach pumped and be in hospital for days, THAT will teach you not to drink

No. alcohol is a depressant so can make it worse, talk to people instead.

If you drink too much you could die of alcohol poisoning, or you'll end up puking your guts out. Or your parents are gonna ground you for the rest of your teenage years, if that sounds like adventure to you--go for it.

By the time you're 15 you'll be a homeless, drunken bum.
But who knows, maybe that's your goal.

Yes it is safe. Don't listen to the other people trying to parent you via the Internet. It's not morally wrong (you obviously feel the same way) to drink under age. Everyone draws that moral line were they think things are right and wrong. Just because something is illegal doesn't mean it is wrong. Murder, robbery, rape, wrong. Underage drinking (without injury to others)... you be the judge. Sometimes (most of the time) talking about your problems doesn't help. You can't talk to your friend(maybe close friend if you have any) because the will think you're weird. You can't talk to your parent because they don't understand what it's like. Guidance councilor have NO idea what they are talking about. they are the people that didn't have any problems growing up, went to college(didn't go to one party) and just want to make a salary(not help anyone). I'm seventeen, so I know how hard it can be growing up. Just don't drink to much because you could do some thing stupid, get caught or hurt yourself or someone else. A few beer and a couple shot should be just right.

Just a quick note... You said you are depressed. If you are on medication for this and, depending on which medication, the medication could have a bad reaction to the alcohol. Just check the Internet or do some research and you should be fine. There are some other health risks but it's up to you to decide if it's worth it.

You're actually 13, I do accept & learn young junior: at 31, at 41, at 51 or even at 131---it not GOOD or FAIR to get DRUNK. ( please learn the meaning of DRINK & DRUNK).
Well, no body likes or loves to get DRUNK :-) After drinking too much they become DRUNK, got it? Some of them (of course, sensible ones) feel shy after knowing their getting drunk; few of them get alert not to be same again; few of them control limit--even few of them quit drinking! Now, at your age of 13---wahhh, what a lovely age to realize, that "getting drunk" is a negative something. So, THINK on getting drunk & decide yourself. God bring more sense within you.

safe? no otherwise you would be allowed to purchase it at your age. I drank when I was 11 but that doesn't mean anything. Alcohol is not good for depression it tends to be a downer and give you sh*t your gonna regret later. I would recommend a few beers over vodka at your age that will kill your liver by the time you're 20!

If you are 13 years old and have a physique like LeBron James and you think it will calm you down, then go ahead drink. Just joking.

The best way is to have enough exercise and healthy foods. Also learn abdominal breathing techniques.
You're still young to surrender. Go, fight for it.
Drinking liquor is bad for your health.

No, it is not. If you are in the US you are not of legal drinking age.

You are 13 years old. Your mind and body will be going through many changes through the next 10 years or so, and alcohol can screw up those changes.
Don't do it.

please, just the beer, not the vodka. (that's your liver speaking)

no its not safe, take it from a long time drinker who no longer drinks. it might subside your anxiety for a little while but it will come on even stronger and much worse when you stop. you need to see a doctor immediately and have the dr put you on a mediction that will work for you alcohol is definately not the answer but a good med will work it has for me and it has saved my life trust me!!!!!!!
