What is the best cigar you have smoked recently?!
What is the best cigar you have smoked recently?
I used to be a Fuente fan but recently found little Davidoffs, smaller than than robusto size, absolutely amazeing.
Answers:
Well personally my favorite is La Gloria Cubana Series R no.7 Maduro ($10), though this is a little more cigar than most care to smoke. They make smaller sizes, but this has been one of the best and most consistant cigars I have smoked, though for some reason they never seem to rate well. There are a few others that are also good cigars:
Ashton VSG - Sun grown wrapper - around $12-14
Punch Rare Corojo - also a sun grown wrapper - around $8
Trinidad - either the natural or maduro - around $12
Oliva Bold - Sun grown wrapper - around $7
Sancho Panza - Maduro - around $6
Hoyo de Monterrey Dark Sumatra - Maduro - around$7
There are many others out there, it all depends on personal preference. To me Arturo Fuente is not the cigar it used to be, I have never liked Monticristo or Macanudo, (unless we are refering to the Cuban Montcristo #2, that is a good cigar) though for some reason they are quite popular, to me they are flat and bland. I have smoked Zino's at $20+ per gigar and wasn't impressed, same with the Padron aniversary series, yet there have been many cheap cigars with no bands that I have loved. But definitly try the ones listed above, they are my favorite non-cubans.

Worked in a very well stocked cigar shop for 2 years, and have smoked for much longer than that
I love Fuente's, maybe try out a Romeo Y Juliete (sp?), they have a pretty good and consistent taste. CAO Golds are good as well.
