As ideal citizens what can we do to minimize alcoholism?!

Question:

As ideal citizens what can we do to minimize alcoholism?

Should the factories manufacturing liquor be closed in countries where alchoholism is a menace?

Answers:
Teach proper drinking, starting at an early age.

When alcohol is not a "forbidden, guilty pleasure", a lot of the tendency to guzzle oneself into stupidity, paralysis, car accidents, coma and death simply goes away.

Having been raised in Europe, where a small glass of watered wine accompanied meals for us kids as young as 6 or 7, we tasted, asked questions, and, by the time college rolled around, booze was not a big deal. "Been there, done that" about sums it up.

One of the less spoken-of "rules" of drinking that I was imbued with is: it's for celebrating. For happy times. For rewarding yourself (like a nice wine with a good meal!). It's not for easing hurts, or escape, or self-destruction.

Drinking when you're lonely, hurt, depressed, or angry is the short road to alcoholism. It's easy to imagine a "reason" to go hide in a bottle, and tends to be self-reinforcing.

Education is the answer. Get young people on the right road early, and you'll be amazed at how alcohol can be kept in perspective, enjoyed thoroughly, and contribute to a happy, productive, healthy life!

Don't drink the stuff -
Your solution is dictatorship . . . not a viable 'fix' to the problem.

Legalize marijuana

no, just provide a reasonable alternative, such as marijuana

first thing you need to do is stop people from creating such delicious drinks, then you need to find a way to make being drunk not fun. Good luck.

lets take a look at the basics. theres no way alcohol manufacturers are going to be shut down, as we saw in the prohibition act, outlawing alcohol is pretty much pointless and only adds fuel to the fire. alcohol only became more popular as it became illegal.

This is a free market economy, so you just can't decide to close a business because it's product is responsible for ruining lives. This is like trying to close gun manufacturers because their product winds up killing and maiming people, or cigarette companies because their product causes cancer and heart and lung disease. No, this is a free market, capitalist system, by GAWD, and we protect and defend the companies of death and destruction!!

There is no such thing as "ideal citizens", we could all do more to improve this country. We can not dictate to others how they must live, even if we do no agree with their actions. That is what is so wonderful about this country!! Freedom to make our own decisions, right or wrong.

i have the perfect solution...
step 1- find some ideal citizens
step 2- gather them all in a truck, ship them off to these countries with a problem
step 3- ship all the alcoholics to where all your ideal guys came from

alcohol brings out the fun in ppl why be rid of it only stupid ppl drink over the limits and put them selves in danger

The answer to your question is simple. If you see alcohol you must drink it before anyone else does. That way you are preventing you friends and family from drinking it.

That seems like a silly solution. We made alcohol illegal here in the states during Prohibition. All my drunken relatives turned to moonshine. Moonshine's far more risky than anything coming out of a clean, well-managed brewery or distillery.

The best answer I can give to minimize alcoholism? Start drinking Coors light. There is absolutely no alcohol whatsoever in Coors light. None, Nothin, Nathan, Nada, Nil, Nein, Nyet! There is, however, piss in large quantities in Coors light. It has recently been classified as Biological waste BECAUSE of the piss. You want a sixer of "silver bullets"? You gotta go to the hospital, brother! Good luck dodging that old guy with emphysema, the hooker with Hep C, and the junkie who wants to blow you for beer money.

chilled out baby. you concentrate on your studies .we are the to handle
