Since alcohol importing and distribution is heavily regulated and because most of that regulation is left up to each individual state, what you can find and what prices those items might be is highly variable. As already suggested, your local fine wine retailer is the best person to answer that question. Out of curiosity, why is Sherry the first thing you thought of when you think about collecting?

I might tell you that if you are really planning on "collecting" and want to hold some bottles for a periods of time exceeding 2 years or so, you should definitely be looking into climate control options. Otherwise all that money you're spending on wine is going to waste.

Sherry, Madeira, and Port wine really don't need temperature control, though.

go to your local wine shop, the owners should be able to help you track it down, if not get it from a distributor/collector for you.

If you have a local wine dealer, start there. Not all of us are that lucky, so if you're not, check out Wine Spectator magazine - a lot of their issues have pull-out cards with wine suggestions to fit all budgets.

You can buy a small "wine cellar" (looks like a dorm fridge) from local retailers; or if there's a part of your home that stays between 55 - 58 degrees, you can keep it there. If you start buying bottles in the $40 + range as investments, then I'd worry about climate control.
