What are some good wines like cristal etc.?!

Question:

What are some good wines like cristal etc.?

Im graduating and I want to celebrate with an expensive wine something around $350.00

Answers:
Why spend so much? You can get an excellent French Champagne for less: Cordon Rouge, Veuve Clicquot, Dom Perignon

Don't get me wrong because Cristal is a great champ but all the rappers grabbed on to drinking it just because it was the most expensive; not because they had any idea about wine. You can get something every bit as good for a lot less and why waste money!

Cristal is not wine...it is champagn...

This is a great wine and it only cost like $30.00..Running with scissors..it's a Merlot...it's awesome..

But if you want to spend money...you have Cristal, Dom Perrion...Those two cost alot..

Congrats on graduTING

I have something you might be interested in, it's a cold sake
called Moonstone plum #8-sweet premium or another called Asian pear #8 -sweet premium, both are a little sweet but AMAZING. They are made by MOMAKOWA in Forest Grove Oregon U.S.A. They cost about 100$ a bottle. This is not your usual sake and believe me the ladies love this stuff and it's so much more original than old Cristal don't ya think. By the way, congrats on your graduating!

Cristal is champagne.

If you've never had wine, I wouldn't spend a whole lot of money. Wine is mostly an acquired taste and there is a good chance you wont like it. Especially red wine.

I completely agree with REnate. Follow her advise and give her 10 points.

For the other guy that answered under her, Champagne IS a wine, a white sparkling wine produced in the Champagne region in France. It is mainly produced with Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay grapes.

Cristal really isn't that great. Check the ratings somewhere like bevmo.com.

Anyway, Krug makes even more expensive stuff if you really feel the need to waste money.

Cristal isn't really a "good" wine - it's just expensive. I can think of a dozen other bubblies that I'd rather have - at less than half the cost.

If you are just into the label and the name, stick with the Cristal. But personally, I wouldn't spend my money on it. I've had it and just wasn't wowed.

Dom is also overpriced for what you get. Again, if you want the name recognition, go for it.

If you want a French Champagne, I'd go with Veuve Cliquot Le Grand Dame, which is about $150 a bottle http://www.bevmo.com/productinfo.asp?sku... , the Rose which is about $300 a bottle http://www.bevmo.com/productinfo.asp?sku... , Krug Cuvee (about $200) http://www.bevmo.com/productinfo.asp?sku... , or maybe the Pommery Louise ($100-$200).

If you want to keep your money within the US - Schramsberg is the way to go. The Schramsberg Reserve will probably be your best bet. It's slightly sweeter than the J Schram (their competition wine), so it's good for beginning wine drinkers who want something spectacular. http://www.bevmo.com/productinfo.asp?sku...

Good luck to you and Happy Graduation! : )

Try a Chateau Mouton or Lafite Rothschild if you like red wines.

most wines with the name "Chteau" something something something, are pretty expensive. around $280 - $1,200. real classy stuff..
