Just to add to the last post, Spirits usually are translucent or clear and are usually 35-40% or higher percentages. Liquors are mainly lower alcohol content and are flavored. EX: Spirit-vodka, rum. Liquor: Kalua (sp?), schnapps, any of the creme de ? as in creme de menthe et c.

**Aperitifs--An apéritif or aperitif is an alcoholic drink usually enjoyed as an appetizer before a large meal. It is often served with something small to eat

**Spiritis--Liquor: an alcoholic beverage that is distilled rather than fermented.

**Liquors--an alcoholic beverage that is distilled rather than fermented.

hi-- aperitifs would before lunch or dinner to put an edge on your appetite spirits and liquors is the hard stuff ie- whisky, brandy vodka etc. aperitifs are normally lower in alcoholic content.
