What the heck do I do with an empty Miller Lite keg?!

Question: I have an empty Miller Lite keg. I called Miller Brewing, they didnt want it. The local distributor wouldnt take it. I called 5 different liquor stores, and none would take it, since I didnt get it from them. I really dont want it anymore, but I dont want to toss it. I have also heard you cant recycle them because they arent allowed to take them. So what do I do!?

Get creative and craft a bbq (if it's stainless steel) or a smoker (if it's aluminum) out of it. It'll be a great conversation piece.

Stainless steel can handle higher temperatures (bqq, open flames) than aluminum can (slow cooking), so make sure you know what the material is and be careful with a blowtorch. Report It

  • Since they have all turned down the return. Take it to a scrap yard. You will get the price of the aluminum. Or you can see if a hot rodder wants to convert it into a gas tank.

you can get much information in this website, kindly stay a minute in website and check anyone link at a time

See if it can be recycled

take it to the scrap yard for its weight in aluminum. its 60 cents a pound where i am at now. good luck.

Simply place it at the back door of a liquor store...let them take care of it.

If you are in San Diego County I might be talked into taking it off your hands.

find somewhere that will fill it back up!

You should be able to take it to a recycler that deals in scrap metals. I have heard lately that breweries are having problems with getting kegs returned because the scrap value of the keg is more than the deposit that was paid on the keg. People were taking the kegs to the scrap yard and getting more than their deposit for the kegs, so the breweries and distributors were having to buy new kegs and raising their deposits. I am surprised that you couldn't return it, but you have three choices - recycle it, throw it away or find some use for it around the house as others have suggested.

I would like a keg. If you can ship it to me for less than $20, I would pay for the shiping costs. Let me know.

keep it! Or drop it off at a local fraternity or men's club...they will use it!
