What's the best kind of rum?
What's the best kind of rum that has a price range from $15-$35. What's good to mix with the rum? Is it good straight?

Captain Morgan is a spiced rum, tastes good with ginger ale, diet or regular cola, or lemon lime soda.
Parrot Bay comes in several flavors. It's always good mixed with fruity flavors, orange, pineapple, mango, melon.

well a 26 of Appeltons is a great rum and cost about $28, and yes it tastes great...it is a Jamacian Rum and is almost sweet.....it is good with Pepsi/Coke or Sprite/7Up and is even good over ice, let it sit in the ice for a couple on min to get nice and cold and its a real nice sipping rum....

my preference is Tortuga gold cayman rum and captain Morgans black tattoo. If you notice at bars thought that their main rum is Captain Morgans. It all depends on everyones preference and taste. If your looking for a little spice go with captain morgans. I would avoid the cheaper stuff not unless your on a budget. coke and rum go great together, try it with your favorite soda
I'm a fan of Bacardi 8. About $25 for a 750ml bottle. It's aged 8 years and has a wonderful aroma. It mixes well also.
My favorite rum is Black Seal Bermuda rum... it is a dark rum and delicious with cola on ice and a lemon slice or marachino cherry. I also like it straight, but prefer rum as a mix. Oh... and one time at a great party in Montreal I had some Vat 19... that was good stuff too.

Captain Morgan is a "Spiced" rum. Most people just think it's good cuz the recognize the cartoon guy. In my opinion, Cruzan 10 year is pretty good (it's made in the virgin islands) and Appelton Rum (made in Jamaica).
Try either one of these and you'll never go back to morgan EVER. Morgan is made in some old guys bath tub in butt **** Ohio.

Affordability and value.Some of the best mixes are coke,tonic, and orange juice. I've never tried it straight. My favorite rum is called Bacardi Rum made in Peru-to Rico. I've don't think I have tried Inner Circle Rum, in my younger days.

a belizian semi dark run called One Barrell. it's smooth and mild. one of the few rums you can drink plain on the rocks. tastes great with juices and in rum punch. not so good with cola. but great with club soda and a lime.
