Question: Makes you wonder doesnt it!

Answers: Makes you wonder doesnt it!

probably cuz its very old and they don't make it anymore

very carefully

One word. Capitalism

because they use the "finest" ingredients... and the rich do that just to say hey i just bought a 20k bottle of wine!

Because it may be old and .... the last of its kind !

its old and the older wine gets the better it tastes and itmust be from like the 19th century

The bottle of wine mentioned must be old, and is not made any longer. If you buy this, you'd BETTER be CAREFUL!!!!!

How can a pound of white truffles cost $5000.00?
How can a pound of Russian Beluga cost $6000?
Theres wines that are actually worth alot more then 20k.
I remember a 1797 Lafitte Rothschild selling at auction for $500,000.( from the Thomas Jefferson estate)
Rarity, vintage etc etc.
It's a rich mans game!

Because just like a painting or a sculpture it is a work of art.

VALUE. For those who love, understand and appreciate an excellent vintage, $20k has certainly been established as a justifiable dollar amount to pay for this particular bottle. It is the VALUE and it will always be the value because, regardless of the goods and/or service, we humans will always be willing to pay more for the value.

It is simple economics. The supply of this particular type and year of wine is most likely low. The demand for this year and type of wine, is high. When demand is high and supply is low it will be reflected in the price, hence the 20,000 dollar price tag. At some point in the future, if the demand were to drop and/or the supply were to increase, the price would drop accordingly.

Because there are fools who are willing to pay that for a bottle of spoilt grapejuice.

People can charge whatever they want.

It is Wealthy people's way of saying "I can and I am rich".
