Can you freeze vodka into a a solid?!

Question: Through conventional methods... wouldnt count on it. Black vodka can freeze partially because of the black dye and other things in it that freeze. But vodka is generally pretty high in alcohol content and it takes a very cold environment to freeze alcohol. The freezing point of ethanol(the alcohol we drink) is -114C thats roughly -172 F... good luck

No Alcohol doesn't freeze.

no, liquor doesn't freeze

Alcohol does not freeze. I put it in the freezer to get very chilled.

if you add water to it

Yes if the temperature is low enough.

But in order to do that you need a freezer that would cost at the very least $5k.

Vodka is actually almost 2/3 water to make it around 80 proof. I have a -5 degree freezer and it get's slushy but never freezes solid.

Not unless your freezer goes to about -114 C. Water freezes at 0 C; and most freezers only go to about -18 C.

Pure ethanol freezes at -114 °C
Alcoholic beverages will freeze somewhere between -114 °C and 0 °C depending on the alcohol content.
The kind of alcohol that people can drink is called ethanol and it has a freezing point of -114 degrees celcius (-114 °C). "something with only 1% ethanol will freeze just a little below 0 °C, whereas something with 95% ethanol will freeze pretty close to -114 °C. How much ethanol is in a particular alcoholic beverage is listed on the bottle, either as a percentage or as a "proof" which is just 2 times the percentage (100 proof = 50% ethanol"

anything can freeze!!! I have a ULT freezer at work (ultra-low temp) that goes down to -50F!!!! Its the same equipment that they use to make dip-dot icecream with... i'm going to try to freeze vodka in it tomorrow!

I keep mine in the freezer and its never frozen. I dont think alcohol freezes.

no, but it gets really cold.

Technically yes you can, however, you have to find a freezer that goes WAY below normal freezers.

Yes you can, and it′s really funny have ICE becoming into vodka!

If only.......xx..?
