Is he a drunk? Please read on.?!

Question: Mr. Unnamed Person drank 750ml of E&J Brandy (80 proof, 40% alcohol) in less than 36 hours. He drank one third the first night before midnight, another third the next day sometime before 5pm, and the rest the following day also before 5pm. Each time he reeked of alcohol. This was my bottle and I only had two half servings out of the whole bottle.

How many servings is in a 750ml bottle anyway?

Two months ago, I bought a huge bottle of wine (Beringer White Zinfandel), had one glass, went to work the next morning, by 5pm the next day... it was completely gone.

I must say that when alcohol is not around, he barely ever drinks, but the moment it is in the house I cannot get more than a serving or two out of it. However, he does make occasional trips to the liquor store.

Is he a drunk, or am I worrying for nothing? I usually keep a bottle of hard liquor for months, even up to a year. Now I can't keep anything in the house. fyi.. he's been out of work.

no hes not a drunk if he drinks once in a blue, if he was a drunk he would be drunk everyday or every weekend. Being out of work has a toll on any one, some people drink, smoke, even have road rage, steal, etc

bottom line i don't think hes a drunk maybe hes just taking a drink instead of robbing a bank

Sounds like a binge drinker to me.

He is a cheapskate for a start, only drinks when you buy the alchohol. You will have to find a place to hide it or just buy the little single serve bottles. We have them here in Australia, I don't know if you do.Just don't leave it where he can get it.

sounds like he is just bored not working and stuff...

There's really only about 4-6 servings in a 750ml bottle of wine. I drink entire bottles to myself during a night out and am not too drunk. He probably has an even higher tolerance than me since he's a male, so I think drinking that much wine is fine. And about the Brandy, that's also not so bad since it was over such a long period. I know people who drink way more and still aren't drunks.

I would agree that he's just a cheapskate who takes advantage of you.
