How to create a resume for being a bartender?!

Question: Ok. So im finally going to go out and try to nab a position as a bartender/ bar back or cocktail waitress. My goal is to get behind the bar eventually. I want to start at a BAR not neccesarily a bar and grill.
I dont have any bartending experience. I have a regular resume. I could choose to use my regular resume, but it doesnt really have any relevence to how id be behind a bar. If any experience, i was the bartender at a friends house party serving irish car bombs, I also checked coats at a local club a few times.
I dont want to elaborate the tiny amount of "experience" i have because i dont want to seem like i cant hold a regular job. But i dont want to walk in there with a regular 40 hour work week resume hoping to impress anybody. I also dont have the extra 500 bucks it takes to do bartending school (waste of money anyways).
So, i can make a resume look good, but im confused as to what type of content would be relevent to a bartending position.

Any sales experience is a huge help, and anything that shows that you can multi task like a maniac

most bars have a pretty high employee turnover rate. if you can get in as a bar back and work hard you can probably earn a spot behind the bar after a few months. just let the places know that you have a real interest in doing what it takes to earn your way there and you should be good.

When you apply you will be asked about your bar knowledge as much as your experience. For example you will be asked what you know about "Top Shelf, Push and Well" and you will be expected to know all the different glass ware, garnishes and other service flair. Bartending School is not a waste because it gives you the knowledge you need to succeed and not only bartend but do so well from the start. Additionally you are more likely to be hired if they don't have to train you. You don't need to go to a physical school you can get a book at the library on Bar management and service or take an online course like:http://www.bartendingonline.com/ for $50. You will also need to know the heath and hygiene codes as well as laws on when to cut someone off and checking ID. It isn't as easy as it looks. Good Luck!
