Does drinking a glass or two of wine with dinner prevent heart disease?!

Question:

Does drinking a glass or two of wine with dinner prevent heart disease?

Answers:
So they say but it must be a red wine, a Cabernet Sauvignon and only a glass per day.

that's what my full blood Italian grandpa says! :)

one glass per nite evry nite... da last time i checked..

yes, but you're only supposed to have one a day... study show
that one glass of red wine a day helps unclog your arteries..

This is truly a frequently asked question, and most doctors have developed their own response to this question. First, what are the facts? The facts are that moderate alcohol intake (1-2 drinks/day) is strongly associated with decreased incidence of coronary heart disease and heart attacks. This is apparently true of all types of alcohol (beer, white and red wine, liquors) and not just red wine. (The mystique surrounding red wine involves its content of flavenoids, antioxidants which have been speculated to decrease heart disease risk). Although alcohol raises HDL ("good") cholesterol, it is not clear that this is the way in which alcohol decreases risk of heart attacks. Alcohol should never be used simply as a "medication" to raise HDL or to prevent heart disease. There are certainly abundant risks associated with drinking alcohol, from driving under its influence to the risk that use could escalate and cause liver disease. However, the fact remains that moderate alcohol use appears to decrease risk of heart attacks. This is one of those questions that, once armed with the information, everyone has to decide for his or her self.

yup . . .red wine expecially. . .as long as you don't drink more than three

Yes. (--,)

The correct answer I reckon is personal liking and afford-ability.
As for evidence of its doing any good are concerned -opinions greatly vary and will continue. Why wine even spirits are dragged in same argument by those who can not avoid.
Decide on your personal merits.

yes it prevent heart disease.

I think "prevent" is too strong a word. Many health professionals and statisticians agree that one or two glasses of wine per day will reduce your chances of having a heart attack. Red wine is preferred.

YES

Wine makes and keeps the blood thin. So it has some benefits.

There are studies that point to it. It is the alcohol, in wine that is the driver. But using too much alcohol is very bad.

Yes because it makes our heart beat faster
